Character Information
Name: Remy Etienne LeBeau
Age: 27
Date of Birth: 8/8
Gender: M
Country of Birth: United States of America
Appearance: Remy is 6'1", with auburn hair and handsome features. His irises are red, with black sclera. The outfit normally consists of fuchsia and black spandex pants with fuchsia and black light body armor covering his chest and neck. The boots he wears are chrome knee-high boots with metal knee pads attached. Finally, the uniform is completed with a long brown trench coat. His body armor extends up his neck and onto his face/head as a cowl, protecting the sides of his face and his forehead. Remy's hair is short and coiffed in a fashionable way.
Spoiler:

Personality: Remy is outwardly cocky and sure of his abilities… and his looks. He prides himself on his looks and his overall flirtatious nature. In fact, one of his quirk powers is a form of emotional understanding and manipulation (see Hypnotic Charm). He also knows how to look out for number one and how to be logical in extreme situations. That being said, he is not without a heart. Remy can easily distinguish the lines of right and wrong, which he never crosses into the wrong side. While he does look out for himself, he knows how to not wrong someone who is good to others and, most importantly, he knows not to wrong children, whom he happens to have a soft spot for, little girls especially.

While Wild Card is a hero by status, he walks a fine line between hero and villain. He is a man who keeps himself in the grey area in order to do what he believes is the right thing and not have anyone scold him for a mistake. He stays generally independent of himself, in order to keep out any sort of social conditioning and overall peer pressure. Even with the presence of a team, he does what is right by his standards first and foremost.

Remy likes to be independent and on his own for the most part, even once he became an official hero. He sees his problems as his problems and not problems that others have to face, so he’s usually trying to handle things, especially personal things, on his own. Since he became a hero, he's fallen into a bit of a depression, feeling guilt that his past life aided in the rise of organized crime.

History: Remy grew up as typically as any orphan from a struggling family: on the streets, stealing from anyone whose belongings weren't locked down. By his teen years he was expertly talented in the art of pickpocketing, lockpicking, and escape artistry. One heist found him in the company of what eventually became the Thieves Guild, which he was a part of for many, many years.

Eventually, Remy became aware of his affect on molecular acceleration, and he began fine-tuning it into what citizens know him for. He began fixing card games, dealing the best hands to whoever paid the highest. He grew tired of this, however, as his clientele dwindled due to the tightening grip on crime. When that hit the fan, Remy left the Thieves Guild and applied for a teaching position at U.A. High School, where he taught mathematics and physics to eager students. Behind the scenes the man adopted his alter ego, Wild Card, knocking over small crime operations, stopping drug rings, the usual hero stuff.

At the same time as Remy's rise to hero stardom, the Thieves Guild found itself in the spotlight of organized crime, and they became #1 on his hitlist. Taking down his former companions and foster family was not easy, but he succeeded, earning his rank of #10 Hero.
Family Members: Jean-Luc LeBeau (adoptive father, deceased)

Quirk Information
Quirk Name: Molecular Acceleration
Type: Transformative/Mutant
Description: Using his quirk, Wild Card can manipulate the potential energy of an object and charge them with kinetic energy, causing an explosion. He prefers to charge smaller objects, like his signature playing cards, as they take a negligible amount of time to charge and thus make for the ideal projectile. The only real limitation to this ability is the time required to charge the object, with larger objects taking an increasingly longer amount of time to charge, and demanding much more focus. Most charging takes place through direct skin contact (hands, feet, mouth, etc). The power of his explosions is dependent on the mass of the object he is charging; for example, a charged playing card explodes with the force of a grenade. This quirk can be applied in more advanced ways, such as:

  • Disruption: WIld Card can, with a bit of effort, reduce the concussive force of his explosions to such a level that they scramble a target's senses, potentially rendering them unconscious.
  • Enhanced Conditioning: This quirk gives Wild Card the added benefits of enhancing his speed, strength, reflexes and reactions, flexibility, dexterity, coordination, balance, and endurance to an exceptional degree, although not superhuman, by charging his own body with kinetic energy. Because of this, he is known to fight with an often unpredictable acrobatic fighting style. Note that this is a passive ability, and does not amplify his abilities further than what his base stats would imply.
  • Accelerating Regeneration: This quirk grants Wild Card a small healing factor, being able to stimulate his own cellular activity to speed up the regeneration process.
  • Static Interference: Because of the latent potential energy always in his body, Wild Card creates natural static that shields his mind from intrusion by telepaths. He can increase the effect by holding a charged object near his head, although it should be noted that this shield does not entirely prevent telepathic invasion.
  • Sheering/Cutting: Wild Card can charge his cards with enough kinetic energy to increase their cutting power, cutting through dense objects like solid steel without disrupting its charge and causing an explosion.
  • Hypnotic Charm: Wild Card has a subtle and subconscious psionic talent for influencing conscious, sentient minds. This power allows Wild Card to compel others to agree to anything he may say or suggest, while anyone with Intelligence greater than or equal to his has proven immune to Wild Card's charm, and people who are consciously aware of what he's doing can ignore its effects entirely. Additionally, it boosts his Cooperativeness stat to Rank 7 for the purpose of charisma.

Range: Variable
Weaknesses: Can't be used on living matter or organic molecules. The physical "charge" he receives makes his abilities exceptional, but not quite superhuman.
Base Cost: 5
Total Levels: 5

  • Level 1: The user gains the basic abilities of molecular acceleration, including the ability to charge small objects (up to 5 lbs) with kinetic energy.
  • Level 2: The user gains access to Disruption. Additionally, the user can now charge medium-sized objects (up to 50 lbs) with kinetic energy.
  • Level 3: The user gains access to Sheering/Cutting, Hypnotic Charm, and Accelerating Regeneration. Additionally. the user can now convert something's kinetic energy to potential energy, freezing it in place. Basic attacks with hands/feet/bojutsu do +1 Wound damage. Exploding cards and other small objects do +2 Wound damage.
  • Level 4: The user gains access to Static Interference. Additionally, the cost of manipulating small objects' energy is reduced by 2. Basic attacks with hands/feet/bojutsu do +2 Wound damage. Exploding cards and other small objects do +3 Wound damage, and now explode with enough concussive force to cause a small sized shockwave.
  • Level 5: Basic attacks with hands/feet/bojutsu do +3 Wound damage. Exploding cards and other small objects do +4 Wound damage, and now explode with enough concussive force to cause a medium sized shockwave.
