Damage and Wounds
Throughout the course of a battle, heroes and villains will make various attacks and, in turn, receive excessive amounts of punishment. This is measured through Wounds. A character's attacks will deal specific amounts of Wounds of damage, while a character's toughness is measured by their Wound Threshold, the amount of Wounds they can receive before succumbing to exhaustion or damage. As the characters on Golden Age are superheroes and supervillains, they can be expected to take large amounts of damage and punishment before being defeated. Heroes and villains alike are durable, and stronger than your run-of-the-mill civilians.
To this end, a character's starting Wound Threshold is 5 by default. This can be increased by certain Quirks, as well as Skill Points. A basic attack (a kick, a strike, a punch, etc) has a damage value of 1 Wound, and can similarly be upgraded by Quirks and Skill Points.
A character's Wound Threshold resets at the start of each new topic, so long as that topic is not immediately sequential to another topic in which they sustained damage. Enough time must have passed between topics for the character to have recovered from the damage sustained.
